What is TeamCache and why do I need it?
TeamCache brings office-network performance to your site teams by caching project data locally. Whether you're dealing with shared bandwidth bottlenecks or remote offices with poor connections, TeamCache delivers LAN-speed access without costly infrastructure upgrades.
Who is TeamCache for?
TeamCache is made for organizations that operate across multiple sites and rely on fast, shared access to large files. It’s especially valuable for teams with large files, tight deadlines and bandwidth that can't keep up.
How does it work?
TeamCache caches LucidLink files on-prem and streams them to local users. The first user (or an admin via prehydration) pulls from the cloud, everyone else works from the local network.
Do we need extra hardware or software?
Yes, you’ll need an on-site server. Once your caching software is up and running, connecting TeamCache is as simple as pasting one line in LucidLink’s global settings.
What happens if our team members travel between sites?
Once TeamCache is set up, users don’t need to change any settings. Wherever they log in, the LucidLink client automatically connects to the local TeamCache at that site, so they always get the same fast performance.
Is it secure?
Yes. TeamCache is read-through only (no write-back) and fully zero-knowledge encrypted, eliminating any risk of data corruption.
Why not DIY?
DIY caching means building and maintaining edge appliances, managing split-brain risks and exposing data in plain text. TeamCache is fully integrated, secure and managed within LucidLink.
How do we monitor usage?
IT teams get full visibility through custom dashboards including Grafana.
What’s the hardware requirement?
